Okay, so I was supposed to chill with a couple of people tonight as it is Halloween, and they went out last night, are pretty trashed, and are saying there are no plans for tonight. So I am pissed and have no plans for the evening. I think I am going to gather up a few things and head back to Fresno because honestly I need to do SOMETHING for Halloween- my costume does kick a severe amount of ass, afterall. Pix to come.

So I got an 87 on my ochem midterm! This is the one that I was horribly ill during the critical parts of lecture and had to basically teach myself a bunch of stupid crazy ochem shiz. I thought it said 66 at first and almost exploded- true story. Come tomorrow morning I will fight for every last possible point. :)

Just found out that I get a full month off for Winter Break- score! :D

Also working on setting up my schedule for next semester- looks like I will have class every day next semester (don't have friday classes this semester), so that kind of blows, but at least I will probably get to take some pretty fun classes!

Alright, so I've been out sick since Monday with the flu- it hit me like a ton of bricks. I wavered between 100 & 103ºF all week and I am as of today back to a more human temperature- hooray for my proteins not denaturing (non-sci translation: my brain didn't turn to jello)!

When thinking of the flu, there are images of tissue boxes, awful pseudo-cherry flavored cough syrup, and explosive diarrhea. BUT there can be positives, such as saving on money on groceries due to nausea. Of course, the increased intake of pharmaceuticals kind of puts that one off the kilter. It does leave you a lot of time to find new music though, which is pretty cool.

I think my favorite part of the week was painstakingly e-mailing my instructors to let them know what was going on with me and why I was not making it to class, only to find out that most of the e-mails were not received. And for that, I am pissed.

Time to go suck some menthol-infused cough drops that taste strongly of ear wax.

Being sick blows.

Sitting in the living room of the new place with the roomies- carolyn & randall. I made it okay, did all the moving of stuffs and most of the unpacking of the stuffs. Pretty tired. Weather was wonderful- going to enjoy the ocean breeze. :)

One things I have to say- I am not going to enjoy this dog. keeps trying to maul me. pics to come. :D

In 18 days! Can't wait. I am scared but excited. Not taking much with me, so it won't be too big of a hassle- I hope.

I am still a bit worried about my classes though- I really don't want to take any more calc (signed up for second semester), and I have a japanese pop culture class (meets a learning requirement for graduation), but its an upper division japanese class, no pre-reqs. I would much rather take something else, but its nearly impossible to contact my academic advisor. It took her three weeks to reply to my last e-mail. I'm setting up an appt with her as soon as I get there to arrange my SEP.

Ah, and my music video. Almost done. Its pretty good I think. Don't know if I'll take the top prize or anything, but I am pretty happy with it thus far.

I am sitting in a hotel in the middle of the "Garlic Capital of the World" and am watching Discovery Channel. The show: Deadliest Catch. These guys are out in the middle of freezing oceans in order to catch fish and crab for consumption. They are ill, injured, and freezing to death. That combined with being away from their families for months at a time- its a sad industry to be in. I think what is most depressing is to see the poor crabs being piled on one another, struggling to get out of their traps. Okay, channel changed.

When the American strike force was sent into the middle east; the supposed apex of the "axis of evil," it was never believed that they would be met with such resistance. We knew they had WMDs, but they had expected us, and had taken appropriate countermeasures.

"What? Already? Damn it. Hammond is going to kill me if I'm late again. How much time we got?"

Leon quickly pulls up and buttons a pair of faded blue jeans that had previously taken residence on the floor. He pulls his cellular phone off the charger and hurriedly crams it into his left pocket.

"Would you really blame her? Sure, it could mean some bad PR for the university, but I think you're worth it."

Leon returns Roy's sentiment with a grin as he ties the graying laces of his all-stars. They were his favorite pair, despite the variations of colour from projects past. After extensive rummaging, Leon was able to procure his keys.

"So how is everything going with you and Mia?" said Leon
"Well, you know. Pretty much the same I guess." said Roy
"What is that supposed to mean? You mean you still didn't tell her?" said Leon, with an air of confusion.
"It's nothing to tell." said Roy
"It? You call it 'it.' You mean you can't even say it out loud?" said Leon
"What difference does it make?" said Roy
"'What difference does it make?' The difference is the obvious guilt that you feel." said Leon
"What you mean that I should feel guilty about having a bit of fun. She's out on some jungle island in the South Pacific doing God knows what and I'm stuck here and I'm the bad guy now?" said Roy

The two became silent, not unlike their fathers before them had done. Roy and Leon went way back, but their fathers had outdone them in this department as well. As they pulled into the checkpoint, an armed guard in full uniform addressed them and motioned for Leon to roll down his window.

"Business" snapped the guard.
"Educational" said Leon, as he had done countless times before.
"Level" piped the guard.
"Student- Junior" said Leon.
"Student- Senior" said Roy.
"Proceed. Have a nice day" Despite the obviously forced complacency in his voice, Leon had really felt as though the guard had some sincerity in his simple words. A faint smile formed in the corners of his lips.

"Good morning class, I'm sure that you're all quite excited about today's lecture. For those of you who bothered to look ahead in your syllabus or heaven forbid actually did the reading beforehand- per my recommendation at the term's start, we will be covering the cell cycle. May I remind you that this is the final leg of our wonderful journey through Biology 101, which will come to a welcomed close following our final exam thursday."

Occupation: Instructor, Biology Department, Central University
Age: 30ish
Talent: Violin

"Is it me, or does Hammond have an especially large stick up her ass today?" said Leon.
"You really wonder why she doesn't like you?" said Roy.

Despite Leon's constant complaints, he had long held a flame for Professor Sara Hammond. She was by far one of the campus' most gifted faculty member (in multiple areas). Her classic A-line skirt was reminiscent of the Catholic school teachers Leon had once known before the "Awakening," but with a few diversions. Instead of the unflattering horn-rimmed glasses, Ms. Hammond had decided to wear contacts which were tinted ice blue to mask her normally hazel eyes. Leon thought her quite tall for a woman, a fact with was only exacerbated by her stilettos. Her russet-brown hair was held together by two ornate chopsticks; a style that changed only in its ornamentation.

"You're sad, you know that?" whispered Roy.

Leon looked up, after losing himself temporarily in the ever changing curves of Prof. Hammond's pressed cotton dress shirt as she would write rhythmically upon the worn blackboard.

"What? Some of us are here to learn here. Leave me alone, man." sneered Leon.
"Yeah, some of us here to learn. Biology. Apparently some of us are moving up to anatomy a bit prematurely, don't you think?" snickered Roy.
"Was that a joke?" said Prof. Hammond. "I do love a good joke, please tell it aloud, so we can all enjoy."
"Uh. Uh, no ma'am. It's nothing important." said Roy.
"My my now, why are you so afraid to share your humor with the rest of the class? Ms. Faraway, wouldn't you like to hear a joke?"

"No Prof. Hammond." peeped Ingrid.
"You do enjoy a good laugh, don't you Ingrid? It is good for the soul." inquired Prof. Hammond as Ingrid sat, staring at her notepad, pencil still poised ready to return to her notetaking. "Well, I suppose we should get back to our lecture. Please keep your comments and observations to yourself, Mr. Sharpson."
"Yes Professor Hammond" said Roy, who had since become flushed with embarrassment at being called out during class. Leon smiled in amusement as Roy elbowed him in the ribs.

Finally finished my finals, my classes are done and over with. I am still realizing that I am actually done with Reedley College- it is an odd feeling. I guess it's kind of like high school in that it felt like it would never end. But it did. I am done, I am transferring to a nice school, and I will be starting a new chapter in my life.

As the classes went, here are the results as of yet:
Microbiology: A
Physiology: A
Piano: A
Spanish: Unknown

So, if all goes well and I get that last A, I will get a 4.0 for the semester and my overall will bump up to a 3.71- I'll take it. As for plans for this summer- a lot of working. I would like to get rid of a bunch of stuff so I have less to pack up and move. Probably a lot of organizing and prep for the fall.

Well, I got an e-mail from Monterey Bay State....

I GOT IN!!

Hahaha! FREEDOM. Well, okay, not yet. There is still much to be done, like figuring out my financial aid, housing, books, orientation, classes, dorm room, roommates. It is going to be pretty crazy, but I am looking forward to it. Everyone has been really supportive and happy for me thus far. I am just glad to finally know where I am going! :D

Input needed:
Which should I choose for housing?
+Residence halls with one other roommate and a private bath- $2670.00
+Suite living with a private room but common area with 3 others- $3730.00
+Suite living with one roomie and shared common area- $2810.00

Looked at more international schools. Don't think it is going to work out for my undergrad- very few offer full english undergrads. I literally checked every university in scandanavia. Those that do (university of oslo), have already ended their app date.

However, there are many schools that offer free master's degree programs in lots of fields (anywhere from IT to medicine). So that will probably be something that I look into for the future.

I think I need to stop getting distracted by these tangents and just pick one already.

The plan:

1. Accept sac state or long beach's admission.

2. Send poly a letter requesting to be changed to general biology.

3x. If admiteed to poly, accept that offer instead.
